March 26 - April 6, 2009 A ~11 day birding trip with brother Rich and the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society, stopping at some of the best birding locations in Costa Rica. The itinerary started in San Jose, spending 1 night in the Pacific transition zone near Carara National Park, 2 nights further north in the shadow of Arenal Volcano, 3 nights at Selva Verde on the lower Carribean slope, and 3 nights in the highlands at Savegre Mountain Lodge. The group spotted 325 species total, with great sightings of many of the target species. |
